The month of June, 2008 three special
events we invite you to consider joining us at Ss Peter and Paul Jesuit
Parish.
On Sunday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m.,
we will board the Diamond Jack for a river and shoreline tour. Beverages
are available on the boat, and box lunches can be purchased with your tickets.
Prices for tickets ar $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, 60 years and up,
and $8 for children 6 to 12 years. Tickets maybe purchased
by mail from The Philomusica Society, 1020 Iroquois, Detroit, Michigan
48214.
The event is to raise money for our
enchanted music program, that will include an orchestra and professional
chorus four times a year.
On Tuesday, June 10, we will have
our seventh annual parish day at Comerica Park. The Tigers will be playing
the Chicago White Sox. There will be a cookout in our courtyard beginning
at 5;15 pm, and then we will go over to the park either be bus or walking.
Tickets prices are as follows: baseball
tickets only $22, cookout & game for adults $37, cookout and kids 15
and under, $27, cookout only for adults $15, and for children 14 and under
$5. We have a limited number of tickets so call 313 961 8077, extension
219 for purchase.
Finally we will celebrate the 160th.
anniversary of the consecration of our building on Sunday, June 29. That
day is also the feast of our patrons, Saints Peter and Paul. We will have
the added musical feature of a ten piece orchestra and professional
chorus under the direction of Norah Duncan. Bishop Thomas Gumbleton
will represent the archdiocese that day, because the building was once
the cathedral for the then Detroit Diocese in 1848.
Please consider joining us for some
or all of these events.
Peace
