Reverend
Carl A. Bonk, S.J. is pastor of Ss Peter and Paul Jesuit Church. He is
a native Detroiter, born in l941, educated in the public schools of the
city, and entered the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) on September 10, l960.
He originally entered the Jesuits as a brother, attended the University
of Detroit, was treasurer of Walsh Jesuit High School near Akron. Ohio
from l971 to l979. He studied theology for ordination to the priesthood
in Chicago and in Boston, and was ordained on June 19, l982. He taught
theology, coached freshman baseball, and was chaplain for the alumni association
at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. His next ministry
was retreats and spiritual direction in the Cleveland-Akron area.
He is a bi-ritual priest with the Byzantine Catholic Church, loves history,
and baseball. Presently he has no associate pastor, but is assisted in
the parish office by Miss Vita Jo Sinacori, and Brother James Horgan, S.J.
directs the Warming Center. |
